Back in 2003 Honda offered hatchback, coming year company is coming with another version with four door with more sportier look. Hatchback will have 1.5 liter turbocharged four cylinder to produce 174 horsepower pairing with six speed manual transmission.
Five trims with LX as base, Sport, EX, Ex-L and Sport Touring will be made available. Sport and Sport Touring hatchback will have center exit exhaust setup to produce 180 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque pairing with manual transmission. CVT will be available as optional on EX-L and Sport Touring.
2017 Honda Civic hatchback look and design is more angular streamlined shaped provides more expressions. Two door coupe will look more smarter with attractive styling. A tight and fast roof line, outlets in both bumpers, C shaped taillights. The Sport Touring model is to have black painted body with black window and grille trim in place of the chrome and smoke gray wheels. Largest cargo is what Honda claiming, CVT is to have 31/40 mpg city/highway EPA rating, estimation on manual transmission is yet not provided by Honda but is likely to remain less than of CVT.
Safety assist will include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, automated emergency braking will remain optional on trim but standard in Sport Touring model. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will be available in selected trims.
Price for 2017 Honda Civic will be higher by $1500 than 2016 Honda Civic Coupe. Starting is expected from $19,885, while Si and Type R will be sportier version of hatch will arrive in later part of 2017.
