2016 Lexus LX570 is strong, posh, weight is nearly similar to Toyota Land Cruiser. Dynamic driving, power and towing are not so pleasing. Its basically a truck sharing frame with Land Cruiser and Toyota Tundra. Body on frame vehicle becomes heavier, Land Cruiser sees a lot of dirty driving in mountains, desserts, jungles but same cannot be said for LX570.
LX now offers eight transmission ratios to what offered six in 2008. EPA fuel economy with this change rises 1 mpg to 13 mpg from 12 mpg, highway remains 15 mpg. Eight speed operates seamlessly, manual mode is available but provides deliberate response doubting if anybody prefer to use it. Employs naturally aspirant V-8 5.7 liter produces 383 hp and 403 lb-ft of torque , same engine is used in Land Cruiser. Touches 60 mph in 7.2 seconds, 0.5 slower than 2008 version. Cadillac Escaldae takes 5.6 seconds to 60 mph.
Cadillac, Lincoln and Infiniti QX80 all weighs less than LX570.
LX can tow up to 7000 pounds though not so fast. Sluggish acceleration makes it more careful in overtaking on highway. Even at low speed steering provides hard feeling. Braking takes 184 feet from 70 mph which is better to the Cadillac.
Adaptive suspension, 19 speaker Mark Levinson audio system ($2350) with luxe interior can lure customers. Choice of four real wood trims, heated and ventilated front seats, power adjustable second row seats, power folding third row seats, standard leather.

Dual screen DVD rear seat entertainment system ($2005). Competitive SUVs provides diesel and other engine options, here eight speed automatic transmission helps but is on tepid side. Lexus price starts where competitors leave off.
Cadillac sold 21,230 units while LX570 was able to sell 3884 units in year 2014.
