Panamera will be available in January, being second generation will remain completely different from predecessor and borrow chassis technology from 911. New MSB (Modular Standard Drivetrain) will have rear and 4 wheel drive platform.
More aluminium coming into play with second generation, nearly about 737 pounds compare to previous version which has aluminium used for doors, hood and front fenders, while this version is to have full body panel made of aluminium. U.S. is going to have engines as 440 hp, 2.0 liter dual turbo V-6 and 4.0 liter dual turbo V-8, along with Diesel version. Engine makes 550 hp from 5750-6000 rpm and 567 lb-ft of torque from 1960-4500 rpm
To control heat Porsche is placing catalytic converter just off the exhaust side of turbochargers along with use of heat shield which runs down back of the engine i.e. wrapping exhaust, turbos, catalytic converter. Porsche speed will be fierce, with 60mph in 3.6 seconds, top speed remains 190mph achieved in sixth gear
Gearbox will be versatile and very much robust, having eight speed automatic transmission coming into play rear or 4 wheel drive configurators.Tranmission will be able to handle 738 lb-ft of torque easily adapted to electric motor, meaning Panamera hybrid is on its way. Panamera is to have three air suspension chambers corresponding to normal, sport and sport plus modes. With suspension body can be raised or lower to improve stability at speed.
Panamera is going to have 911 chasis tech, includes electronically controlled anti roll bars, analog tachometer, 7 inch TFT displays, 12.3 inch touchscreen above shifter for audio,climate, navigation and other minor controls. Active Cruise Control coming into play with Panamera second generation which is to use map data to automatically slow for corners.
