What you're looking at here is the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept. Yes, "Concept" is a part of the name — but unless the car gets booed off stage at its Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este debut this weekend (it won't), you can bet your bottom dollar that Aston will end up making a few of these for very, very well-heeled buyers.
As the name suggests, the car is based on the Vanquish
, which comes equipped with a six-liter, 569-horsepower V-12. Styling was a collaboration between teams at Aston and at Zagato in Milan, bringing out Zagato trademarks like the twin-bubble roof and the wraparound windshield profile — similar to the V12 Zagato — while preserving Aston Martin's core DNA in the grille and headlamps. Around back, there's a retractable spoiler (I kind of loved the giant, unapologetic wing on the V12 Zagato, but this is nice too) along with "bladed" taillights that are supposed to evoke Aston's Vulcan hypercar.
And obviously, as you could probably guess, the entire car is carbon fiber.
